A few of my KISS friends & references:

JOE MARSHALL ( he put on the Detroit KISS conventions for years. He has a huge collection.)

FAT VINNY GONZALES ( had the largest KISS collection in the world. He was friends with KISS from the start. Ask them. I visited his house often, in '87 & in '88. Took photos of his collection too. He had complete stage worn costumes, every gold record award presented to him & endless other things. Ace even called him when I was there in 1987 & I talked to Ace on the phone too. The guys came & stayed at his house alot. His Mom would make cookies for Gene. They were just a normal family. Not rich, not poor. He would go on the road with them. Stay at the hotels, ride in the limos. Peter & Debra would stay there too, when visiting NYC. My wife & I slept in the same guest room. After SEEING his collection & photos of KISS members at his house, I always knew Vinny was the real deal. I talked to Gene one afternoon, before the Alive 3 Detroit gig. We were at the same hotel. He came down to the lobby & just talked to me for like an hour. I asked him all about Vinny & the collection. Gene said "we just gave it all to him, cause we knew he would keep it & display it." "He was the biggest fan we ever met." I told Gene that the band was VERY generous to Vinny. He said it was no big deal. We were thru with those things. Then I proceeded to tell Gene the news that Vinny had went and sold most of it. He got a very serious look on his face & asked me "how much did he get for it all?" I said I thought around $750,000.00 )

DAVID SNOWDEN ( put out KISS fanzines starting around 1983. Went on to run the Vinnie Vincent Invasion official fan club. Which I took over in 1988, when David sold me everything. A fan for years.)
